There are no “full-time” workers in GICF. All those who serve in the life and ministry of GICF, in whatever capacity, are volunteers. The leadership team is no exception to this. Our leadership structure follows the Biblical pattern of Elders and Deacons.
Currently, we have five elders and three deacons. The Elders are: Andrew Kelly (Presiding Elder), Darius Thomson, Glenn Gyimah Kwabena, Joseph Poon and Eddie Lawrimore. The deacons are Alfred Leong (Presiding Deacon), Teck Eng Soh and David Norwood. The Elders and Deacons team as a whole is commonly referred to as the “SLT” or “Servant Leaders Team”, as we believe that servant leadership is the model and principle for leadership taught in the Bible.
To further complicate matters, the Religious Affairs Bureau (who administer our license and annual inspections) do not recognize the Biblical structure for leadership, so to smooth relations with them, we have a Chairman and Deputy-Chairman. Currently, these are Andrew Kelly and Alfred Leong respectively
